Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Policy applies to all purchases made on freeyou.co.in and is required by Razorpay and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

1. Overview

FreeYou — operated by FY Freelancing Solutions (OPC) Private Limited — offers digital services including freelancer profile subscriptions, KYC identity verification, and custom partner services. This Policy outlines our refund and cancellation terms for each service category.

Key principle: We aim to be fair and transparent. If you experience a technical issue preventing service delivery, we will make it right. Please read this Policy before making a purchase — by completing payment on freeyou.co.in, you agree to these terms.

All payments are processed through Razorpay (Razorpay Software Private Limited, a licensed Payment Aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India). Refunds, where approved, are processed back through Razorpay to your original payment method.

2. Subscription Plans

2.1 What is a Subscription?

FreeYou subscription plans ("Professional", "Premium", or similar tiers) are billed monthly or annually and provide access to premium platform features. Subscriptions activate immediately upon successful payment confirmation.

2.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by emailing freeyouforever@outlook.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the period ends.

No partial-period charges: If you cancel mid-period, you will not be charged for the next renewal. Your access continues until the billing period expires.

2.3 Refund on Subscription

Within 7 days of first purchase — Full Refund Eligible
If you have not materially used the premium features and request a refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase, we will issue a full refund. "Material use" means KYC verification completed, project matches received, or premium profile features actively used.

After 7 days but within 30 days — Case-by-Case
Refund requests after 7 days but before 30 days will be reviewed individually. Refunds may be issued if FreeYou was unable to deliver the subscribed services due to a technical failure on our part.

After 30 days — No Refund
Subscription fees are non-refundable after 30 days from the date of purchase. Renewal charges for subsequent billing cycles are not refundable after the billing date.

2.4 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle. You will receive a reminder email 7 days before renewal. To prevent renewal, cancel before the renewal date. FreeYou will not issue refunds for renewal charges if a cancellation request was not submitted before the renewal date.

2.5 Annual Plans — Early Cancellation

For annual subscription plans cancelled after 30 days, no refund is provided for the unused portion. We recommend monthly billing if you are uncertain about long-term usage.

3. KYC Identity Verification Fee

Where a fee is charged for KYC identity verification (conducted through our third-party provider, Didit):

Non-Refundable: KYC verification fees are non-refundable once the verification session has been initiated. This is because the fee is passed to Didit to cover the cost of the identity check, which is consumed at the point of session creation — regardless of the verification outcome (Approved, Declined, or In Review).

If your KYC session failed due to a technical error attributable to FreeYou (not document quality or network issues on your end), contact us at freeyouforever@outlook.com within 48 hours and we will arrange a complimentary re-verification session.

4. Ad Hoc and Custom Partner Service Fees

Ad hoc fees charged to Partners and Users for custom services (talent sourcing, featured placements, bespoke engagements) are governed by the specific written agreement entered into for that engagement.

  • The applicable refund terms will be stated in the individual service agreement or proposal;
  • In the absence of a written agreement, the following default applies:
    • If service has not commenced: full refund within 7 business days of written cancellation request;
    • If service has partially commenced: refund of the proportionate unused portion, at FreeYou's discretion;
    • If service is fully rendered: no refund.
  • All cancellation requests for ad hoc services must be submitted in writing to freeyouforever@outlook.com.

6. How to Request a Refund

Use subject line: "Refund Request — [Your Name] — [Order/Transaction ID]"
Include the following details
Registered email address, Razorpay payment ID (from your payment confirmation email), the specific service purchased, date of purchase, and reason for the refund request.
We acknowledge within 48 hours
We will confirm receipt of your request and let you know if any additional information is needed.
Decision within 5 business days
We will communicate our decision (approved / partial / declined) with reasons within 5 business days.
Refund processed via Razorpay
Approved refunds are initiated within 2 business days of approval. Credit reflects in 3–5 additional business days depending on your bank or card issuer.

7. Refund Processing Timelines

Once a refund is approved and initiated by FreeYou via Razorpay, the time for the amount to reflect in your account depends on your payment method:

Note: Timelines are estimates. FreeYou is not responsible for delays at the bank, card network, or wallet provider's end after the refund has been initiated from our side. If you do not receive the refund within the estimated window, please contact your bank before escalating to us.

8. Non-Refundable Items — Summary

The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances:

  • Subscription fees after 30 days from date of purchase;
  • Auto-renewal charges if cancellation was not completed before the renewal date;
  • KYC verification fees once a session has been initiated;
  • Fees for services that have been fully rendered;
  • Any charges resulting from violation of FreeYou's Terms of Service;
  • GST charged on any transaction (GST once collected and remitted to the government cannot be refunded — a GST credit note will be issued where applicable under GST law).

9. Failed and Duplicate Transactions

9.1 Failed Payments

If your payment fails but money was debited from your account, the amount will be automatically reversed by Razorpay to your source account within 5–7 business days. You do not need to contact FreeYou for this — it is handled automatically. If the reversal does not occur within 7 business days, email us your Razorpay payment reference and bank statement.

9.2 Duplicate Payments

If you are charged twice for the same transaction, contact us immediately at freeyouforever@outlook.com with both transaction IDs. We will verify and initiate a refund for the duplicate charge within 2 business days of confirmation.

9.3 Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback through your bank or card issuer without first contacting FreeYou, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending investigation. We encourage you to contact us directly first — most issues are resolved quickly and amicably.

10. Dispute Escalation

If you are dissatisfied with our refund decision, you may escalate the matter as follows:

  1. Internal escalation: Email our Grievance Officer at freeyouforever@outlook.com — all grievances are responded to within 15 days as mandated by the IT Rules, 2021;
  2. Consumer Forum: You may file a complaint with the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019;
  3. National Consumer Helpline: You may contact the National Consumer Helpline at 1800-11-4000 (toll-free) or visit consumerhelpline.gov.in;
  4. Razorpay dispute resolution: For payment processing disputes, Razorpay's grievance contact is razorpay.com/grievances.
